NMRHA YEAR END AWARDS:
Year-end awards will be given in each of the following classes to the horse/rider teams earning the most money in NMRHA approved shows; Open, Intermediate Open, Limited Open, Non Pro, Intermediate Non Pro, Limited Non Pro, Rookie, Novice Horse Open, Novice Horse Non Pro. A score of 0 (zero) or a No Score will earn no points or money. Youth: The NRHA Youth Point Scale outlined in the NRHA Handbook will be used to determine the Champions of the Youth. A score of 0 (zero) or a No Score will earn no points or money. NMRHA YEAR END ELIGIBILITY: General Conditions: To be eligible for NMRHA Year End Awards, riders and owners must be members in good standing with the NMRHA. All NMRHA memberships must be paid prior to entry for placings to count toward year-end awards. The NMRHA Year End Award system is based on a one horse/one rider team. Upon graduation from Green Reiner class, "graduate" trophy buckles will be awarded. Riders may show one or more horses to "graduate" from this class.
GREEN REINER CLASS RULES:
Eligibility:
Only Non Pro riders are eligible (please refer to the NRHA Handbook for definitions), and must not have won more than $200 in lifetime NRHA earnings as of Jan 1 of the current year. If a Green Reiner earns more than $200 during the year, he/she may continue to compete in the Green Reiner until the Green Reiner Graduate buckle is earned (see "graduation"). GREEN REINER exhibitors must be NMRHA members in good standing in order to earn a Green Reiner Graduate Buckle. Green Reiners do not need to be current members of the NRHA. NRHA non-pro ownership conditions do not apply.
Graduation:
To "graduate" from Green Reiner, a rider must accumulate 20 points in this class according to the NRHA Youth point scale outlined in the NRHA Handbook. Points may be earned on more than one horse. Once a rider has earned 20 points, the rider will "graduate" out of the class and will no longer be eligible to compete in the Green Reiner, even if this is achieved before the end of the current year. Green Reiner Points will accumulate from year to year until the rider reaches 20 points and "graduates" Restrictions: Green Reiners may show two handed or one handed but must stay with one or the other throughout the pattern or a score of zero will be given. Switching back and forth from one to two hands or switching hands is not allowed. NRHA approved attire and equipment is required, including legal bits. Riders may show one or more horses to "graduate" from this class.
GREEN HORSE CLASS RULES:
Eligibility:
A Green Horse is any horse that has not won more than $500 in NRHA approved shows as of Jan 1 of the current year, and may be ridden by any rider. GREEN HORSE exhibitors and owners must be current members of the NMRHA and in good standing in order to be eligible for year end awards. Green Horse exhibitors and owners do not need to be current members of the NRHA. Restrictions: A rider may show two handed or one handed but must stay with one or the other throughout the pattern or a score of zero will be given. TIEBREAKER RULES:
The following tiebreaker rules will be used to decide all year-end races which end in ties. 1) The rider and horse combinations with the most first place wins for the year in that class (all classes entered included). 2) The rider and horse combination that has earned the highest total cumulative scores in that class for the year. 3) If 1) and 2) fail to break the tie, winners will be decided by a coin flip..
